My name is Ken Emmil, I have only been the superintendent in Colville for four years, but I have lived in Colville and worked in the Colville School District for almost 20 years. Born and raised on the "west-side" (Snohomish), my wife and I fell in love with this community and area and decided to raise our kids here. We have no regrets.
My vision for this school district is one of service. That being said, if there is one belief I have about living and learning, it is that "personal ownership" is the key. As adults, we must own every aspect of our lives. As educators, we must help our students to understand the power they have in their lives if they will take ownership of their learning and decision making. Every time we/they/you point fingers elsewhere, or find excuses, power is lost and given over to something outside our control. If there is one thing that I/we can give to our children, it is power in their own lives.
