State Assetments

Students are tested regularly by the state to measure their proficiency and growth in math, English language arts, and science. Passing English language arts and math assessments (or approved alternates) is currently required for graduation. Science is scheduled to be added in 2021.

·   Smarter Balanced: English language arts (ELA) and math tests at grades 3 through 8 and 10 each spring during the last few weeks of the school year.

·   Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS): Science test for grades 5, 8 and 11 administered each spring.

·   Washington – Access to Instruction and Measurement (WA-AIM): ELA, math, and science alternate assessments for students with significant cognitive challenges documented in their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
