How do I register for classes?

Complete the registration form and get it to the Community Education office in one of two ways:

  1. Mail it to Community Education, 217 S. Hofstetter, Colville, WA 99114
  2. Bring your registration in person to the address above.

Registration hours are 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is closed on school holidays.

When do I pay my registration fees?

Fees are due at the time of registration. Make checks payable to Community Education unless you are registering through one of our partner agencies. Please do not mail cash. You are obligated to purchase any tickets ordered in advance upon registration for any field trip, musical or special event.

What happens if a program is cancelled?

All programs have a minimum enrollment, dependent upon type and length of class, to continue. We reserve the right to cancel any program or class in which registration is insufficient. The Community Education Office will notify all registered individuals if a class has been cancelled and your money will be refunded.

What if something unexpected comes up and I need to cancel my class?

Community Education will refund your registration fee if you give 72 hours notice. If you request a refund more than 72 hours in advance, you may not receive a refund if the instructor has needed to order supplies for you. Otherwise there will not be a refund generated due to the cost of supplies, handouts, etc. We cannot process any refunds under $5.

Will I receive a confirmation or be reminded of the class start date?

No. You will be notified if there isn’t space in the class or if it has been cancelled. If you don’t hear from Community Education after sending in your registration, there has been sufficient space to sign you up. Due to the fact that there are several thousand people going through classes in a year, and there is one employee for the program, reminders and confirmation calls are not feasible.

Can I earn credit for Community Education courses?

We do not offer any college level courses for credit. We do have some classes that offer high school credit to CHS students. We also offer some staff development courses in which educators can earn clock hours. If this is the case, it is mentioned in the course description.

How do I find out about teaching a course?

We are always looking for new instructors and class ideas. Please call 685-2808 and talk to Joanie Christian for more information.
