Hofstetter students are given the opportunity to participate in a wide variation of clubs and other activities. Check below to see what some of these activities are.
Destination Imagination
The Destination Imagination program provides opportunities for students to explore and discover unlimited creative potential through teamwork, cooperation and mutual respect. Teams of 5-7 students are formed. During the year, teams work to solve a central team challenge and learn techniques of brainstorming and instant problem-solving through instant challenges. The culmination of the program is when their work is showcased at local, regional, state and global tournaments. Watch for more information on Destination Imagination in the Hofstetter Hawk News and at our Open House this fall.
ASB
Hofstetter School ASB has three officers as well as representatives from each grade and classroom. ASB meets several times a year to discuss ways to improve and help our school. Students vote on actions and approvals for food drives, penny drives, fundraisers, as well as spending ASB funds. Some ways students spend funds are to pay for buses to special field trips, treats for end-of-the year parties, rewards for students who reach AR goals and school-wide assemblies. ASB representatives are responsible team players and are an important part of Hofstetter School!
Highly Capable and Talented
Students involved in the HCT (Highly Capable and Talented) program at Hofstetter meet for two hours each week with teacher, Sue Pruitt. The students learn to solve logic puzzles and improve their problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
The Passport Club
Hofstetter students study geography as part of the Passport Club. The Passport Club provides students with the opportunity to challenge themselves to learn the continents, countries, and oceans of the world and thereby broaden their global vision. Students are then tested on their knowledge of geography locations. Volunteer parents help implement this wonderful program.
Tech Team
Tech Team students must apply to be in Tech Team and make a year-long commitment to learn about and help with technology at Hofstetter School. Tech Team members attend meetings where they learn about the proper way to care for computers and cameras, as well as learn how to help others with technology. Their duties include turning computers on and off, cleaning computers, helping out in the lab with classroom instruction and helping in their own classrooms with technology troubleshooting. These "techies" are excellent team members and help make technology fun at Hofstetter School!
