The Fish Hatchery shipped out 2200 rainbow trout to the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife on April 19th. Each fish weighed over a 1/2 pound. The morning and afternoon hatchery classes were involved as well as the Applied Math class that meets at the hatchery. Both groups aided in the day before prep for this event by counting, sorting, weighing, and crowding the fish. The fish were used to stock Deep Lake and Starvation Lake days before the season opener of lake fishing on April 22nd.

Today, April 12, 2023, at approximately 10:56 AM many schools throughout Washington received a bomb threat email. Colville School District received this email. At no time did we believe that students or staff were in jeopardy. Our district security director was immediately in contact with other security directors throughout the state. We notified dispatch and had the building administration check their facilities. At this time it is believed to be a hoax. We take every situation seriously and our student and staff safety is paramount. Please contact our District Office at 509-684-7850 if you have any questions or concerns. Thank you!

On Tuesday, April 11th, the CHS Electronics classes hosted 30 Colville Jr. High students in the first annual 8th Grade Electronics Exploration. The event was created by senior electronics student, Bayleigh Darnold, and is intended to welcome next year's freshman to the high school while offering them hands-on lessons taught by CHS students. It is Bayleigh's intention to help incoming students start to think about their future and how CTE classes can greatly enhance their experience and open doors to careers.

Each semester, seniors participate in “Mock Interviews” as part of their Consumer Education class. This semester, the interviews took place on March 30th. Mr. Peterman, who teaches consumer education, and Mr. Purvis, who is our CHS Worksite Learning coordinator, invited representatives from local businesses to participate in the interviews. The real-life industry perspective is invaluable to our seniors, and we would like to thank the Department of Natural Resources, the National Forest Service, Colmac Coil, Danekas Funeral Chapel, Remax Real Estate, Norstar Heating and Cooling, All Seasons Landscaping, and Delta Dental and for their participation and continued support of our programs and our youth! Seniors are learning interview skills and will receive valuable feedback that they can apply to future experiences. Some students may even be offered job opportunities following their interviews!
