Today our CHS Interact Club proudly unveiled a new Peace Pole at the front of the school! The Peace Pole is a global symbol of unity and hope, reminding us all to work toward kindness, compassion, and peace in our community and beyond. Thank you to our Interact students for leading this meaningful project!

There will be a Stevens County Multi-Agency Exercise at the Colville High School on the following date and time: Friday, June 20th, 2025 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM As part of our district wide school safety protocols, we are conducting a safety drill on 6/20/2025 at our high school. There will be several agencies responding to this drill. Please do not be alarmed. This event has been planned very thoroughly. We ask that you please do not approach the high school during the exercise. Evergreen Way will be closed to thru traffic at Hwy 20 for the duration of the drill. There will be “blank” weapons discharged inside our buildings during the allotted drill time, so please do not be alarmed. We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during this important and necessary safety exercise. If you have any questions please call the Colville School District Office at 509-684-7850. Thank you!

This is a message from the Colville School District. We would like to remind families that the last day of school, Thursday, June 12th will be an early release day. On June 12th, schools will release three and a half hours earlier than normal. If your student rides an afternoon bus, the drop off time for your student will be three and a half hours earlier than normal as well. If you have any questions, please contact your student’s school office. Thank you!

On Friday, May 30th, six Colville High School students completed their training to become Certified Nursing Assistants through a partnership with Providence Mt. Carmel. Eliza Fazzari, Sophia Laspisa, Madison Amos, Kallie Dallman, Natalie Lister, and Taelia Anderson received their certificates during a pinning ceremony that took place at the hospital. Congrats to these fantastic students!

The Colville High School Graduation week is underway! Our class of 2025 seniors signed out of their classes today. It's hard to see them go, but we are all excited to see where their next chapter takes them! Mr. Heideman's science classes and Mr. Purvis's Video Production class teamed up to bring an incredible experience to the students at Hofstetter School. The Colville High School students developed a unique science fair that catered to the interests and levels of our K-2 school. The little ones were thrilled to experience all the amazing projects the high school students brought with them, not to mention eating lunch and having recess with the "big kids" as well!

Cheer tryouts for next year's 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders!

This weekend, students Dane Hoogstad and Dallas Burt proudly presented a handcrafted, one-third scale replica of a David Thompson Columbia River canoe to the Kettle Falls Historical Society. Their stunning work was showcased at the Celebration of the Fur Trade and the grand re-opening of the Kettle Falls Historic Museum. The canoe was built using historical blueprints and materials generously donated by Columbia River Cedar. Guided by Carpentry teacher Mike Jutila, the students quickly discovered that this wasn’t just a typical shop project—the intricate craftsmanship demanded incredible patience and persistence. The project ended up taking the entire school year to complete! The result? A museum-worthy masterpiece that now lives on as a part of our region’s rich history. If you see these two around, be sure to congratulate them—it’s not every day your school project ends up in a museum! Atta way Hawks!

This week, four or our Colville FFA members traveled to Pullman WA to attend the State FFA Convention. There they were recognized on stage in front of their peers for their accomplishments in Forestry and Potato Judging. They also attended the Expo, industry tours and toured the WSU campus. The following students received plaques on stage: Hailey Leaden 7th place team at State Potato Judging Kelsea Lewis 10th Place individual State Forestry Colton Hanson 8th Place individual State Forestry (not in attendance) Emma Newby 4th Place individual State Forestry Kendra Lewis 2nd Place individual State Forestry Hailey Leaden 1st Place individual State Forestry Colville FFA (Hailey, Kendra, Kelsea, Emma and Colton) 1st place State Forestry team and won the right to represent Washington at the National FFA Forestry Career Development Event in Indianapolis! Great work Hawks!

On Saturday, May 3rd, our CHS Rocket Club advisor Mr Heideman, Dane Hoogstad (President of the CHS Rocket Club), and Vincent Fazzari (Vice President) went to Eltopia to launch our rockets with the Tri-Cities Rocketeers Club. Dane and Vincent successfully launched and recovered their rockets, and both earned their Level 1 High Power Rocket Certification with the National Association of Rocketry. WOW! Congratulations and great work Hawks!
