4 Colville FFA forestry members had the privilege to represent Washington state at the National FFA Forestry contest in Indianapolis, IN. Students Kendra Lewis, Kelsea Lewis, Hailey Leaden, and Colton Hansen, competed amongst 40 other states and approximately 160 contestants across the nation to showcase their expertise in a variety of activities that test their knowledge and skills in forestry. Participants identify tree species, measure and calculate timber volume, diagnose forest disorders, and answer questions on general forestry knowledge. The event also includes a team-based problem-solving activity where students address a forest management scenario. The contest site was held at the Morgan-Monroe state forest in Indiana. In addition to attending the National FFA Convention and Expo, our students also got to tour many different museums and historic locations. This includes the Louisville Slugger Factory, Churchill Downs (Home of the Kentucky Derby), Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis Zoo, and got to attend a country concert and rodeo.
Get ready for a night of laughter and pure imagination! The CHS Drama Club invites you to join them for Bestest Bedtime Stories (As Told by Our Grandpa) (He’s Silly), a wildly funny mash-up of classic fairy tales retold in the most unexpected ways. From twisted tales to familiar favorites turned upside down, this fast-paced comedy is perfect for audiences of all ages.
Grandpa is a little out of practice when it comes to babysitting, but if he’s ever going to get his bouncy grandkids to go to sleep, he’s got to remember some bedtime stories fast. Or at least something pretty close to them. Meet the Witch in “Hansel and Gretel” who lives in a house made of broccoli, the magical fairies Lipitor, Miralax, and Excedrin in “Sleeping Beauty,” and Jack who needs help from the stage crew getting down the beanstalk and away from the giants in “Jack and Jill and the Beanstalk.”
This comedy by Ed Monk is sure to be a hit for all ages. You’ll never look at bedtime stories, or your favorite storybook characters, the same way again! Come support our talented students and enjoy an evening of fun, creativity, and laughter! Bestest Bedtime Stories (As Told by Our Grandpa) (He’s Silly) will be performed by Colville High School on Friday, November 21 and Saturday, November 22 at 7 PM and again on Sunday, November 23 at 2 PM in the Colville High School auditorium. Tickets are only $5 per person and sold at the door only.

Mr. Heideman's science classes and Mr. Purvis's Video Production class teamed up to bring an incredible experience to the students at Hofstetter School. The Colville High School students developed a unique science fair that catered to the interests and levels of our K-2 school. The little ones were thrilled to experience all the amazing projects the high school students brought with them, not to mention eating lunch and having recess with the "big kids" as well!
