Colville High School will host their annual Veterans Day Assembly this Thursday, November 9th at 9:00am. The assembly includes speeches, Veteran recognition, and performances by our CHS Band. The FFA National Convention and Forestry Competition in Indianapolis this week was an awesome experience for our CHS students. Each of the team members placed in the silver category and they also earned a silver plaque as a team. The students said that it was a once in a lifetime experience. The contest was a huge challenge and the experience was priceless!

On Oct. 28, fifteen CHS drama students attended the Inland Northwest Theatre Arts Festival at North Central High School. Students attended workshops and watched performances of works in progress from several area high schools. You can see our drama students on stage at the Colville High School Auditorium on November 17, 18, or 19th for their fall production of " The Night I died at the Palace Theatre". This fall, twenty-six Colville High School juniors and two seniors were inducted into the National Honor Society by the Rotary Club. They also honored eighteen seniors as second year members of the National Honor Society. In addition to having a rigorous class schedule, these students must maintain a high cumulative GPA, be discipline free, and meet community service hour requirements. Way to go Hawks!

The Colville School District will be having Parent-Teacher Conferences this week on Wednesday, November 1st and Thursday, November 2nd. These are non school days for students. If you have questions or need to schedule a conference, please call your student's school office. Thank you!

The Colville High School FFA Forestry team and their advisor Ivy Nelson are heading to the National FFA Convention and Forestry Competition next week in Indianapolis, Indiana! Colville High School presents their newest drama production: "The Night I Died at the Palace Theatre". The Palace Theatre actors are just getting ready to rehearse the final scene for their latest production, "I Ain't Got No Body," when they run into a snag. This comedy-filled mystery is brought to you by the CHS Drama Club and their advisor Gail Herbst. Tickets are $5 per seat at the door, showtimes below. We hope to see you there!

All Colville High School Juniors and Seniors as well as Freshmen and Sophomore enrolled in CTE classes went to the Career Fair coordinated by the Colville Rotary Club on October 25th. Students had an opportunity to talk to local employers about opportunities that are available in our community. 32 local/regional businesses were represented at this event. Students participated in engagement activities with prizes offered to encourage student interaction with presenters.

The Colville High School ASB presents: "Haunted Hawk Night"! This outdoor fundraiser for children 5th grade and younger will be this Saturday, October 28th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm behind the Colville High School. Prices for this event are: $.50 to $1.00 per station, $5.00 for either a hot dog/chips OR a mac/cheese bowl, and $1.00 per drink with hot cocoa and water being available. We hope to see you there!

On October 19th at 10:19 AM, schools in the Colville School District participated in this year’s Great Washington ShakeOut Day. The Great Washington ShakeOut is held on the third Thursday of October each year. The ShakeOut is our chance to practice how to protect ourselves, and for everyone to become prepared for an earthquake if one were to occur in our area.

This afternoon, on September 22nd, Colville High School went into a brief lockdown as a result of a false alarm from our internal safety notification system. This afternoon, September 12, we had a confirmed bear sighting near the Colville Fish Hatchery located at 390 North Hofstetter . The Department of Wildlife and local law enforcement responded to the area immediately to ensure public safety as they developed a plan. Please take precautions if you live in that area. The Colville High School is seeking a 1.0 FTE vocationally certified (or have the ability to work towards obtaining certification) teacher to teach carpentry and engraving classes. Summer hours: Besides summer school, Fort Colville Elementary is closed for the summer. Phone messages and emails are being checked regularly. If you need immediate assistance, please contact the District Office. Classroom placement information will be mailed home the first week of August and Secretaries will be back in the office around the middle of August. Have a safe and relaxing summer!

We would like to remind families that due to the snow make-up day, Friday, June 9th will be a full day of school and the new last day of school, Monday, June 12th will be an early release day. On June 12th, schools will release three and a half hours earlier than normal. If your student rides an afternoon bus, the drop off time for your student will be three and a half hours earlier than normal as well. Congrats to Nijal Evje and Skyler Patrick for completing an internship in IT (Information Technology) with NEWHealth Colville. Nijal and Skyler worked on an IT team that installed all computers and network infrastructure for NEWHealth's brand new Colville Medical Clinic. NEWHealth's IT Director raved about the two CHS students and their ability to work quickly, intelligently, and independently.

The Colville School District uses an online format to collect important information for students each school year. This is a yearly-required process and is open now. Guardians need to log into Skyward and complete this process as soon as possible. You may use your student’s school issued device for this purpose. Today, April 12, 2023, at approximately 10:56 AM many schools throughout Washington received a bomb threat email. Colville School District received this email. At no time did we believe that students or staff were in jeopardy. Our district security director was immediately in contact with other security directors throughout the state. We notified dispatch and had the building administration check their facilities. At this time it is believed to be a hoax.
